Welcome To Mangalam Timber
Mangalam Timber, is a proud member of the esteemed B.K. Birla Group. As a pioneer in the Indian Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) industry, we introduced MDF manufacturing in 1985 under the brand name DuraTuff. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing unit is based in Nawrangpur, Odisha, featuring India’s first true German MDF and Short Cycle Lamination Plant from Siempelkamp GmbH, with technical consultation from Jim Walter Corporation, USA.
We take pride in our legacy of firsts, having been the first company in India to launch Prelaminated MDF in the late 1990s. Our prelaminated MDF was also the first to be licensed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (IS 14587 - 1998) for its entire product range. Continuing our commitment to innovation, we introduced High Moisture Resistant (HMR) MDF, followed by the popular DHD-HMR High Density High Moisture Resistant MDF, meeting IS 12406 - 2003 standards.
Our advanced Steinemann Sanders technology ensures precise thickness consistency across every panel. The Siempelkamp Short Cycle Press (SCP), the only one of its kind in India, enables seamless lamination of boards up to 18 feet in length, ensuring uniform pressure and temperature distribution. This results in perfect edge-to-edge lamination, eliminating the risk of chip-off at cutting edges.
DuraTuff MDF and DHD-HMR are engineered with a high core density, ensuring exceptional screw holding strength. Additionally, our MDF provides natural resistance to termites and borers due to the refining and defibration process, which removes starch and lignin from the fiber mass, preventing air pockets that could harbor infestations.
Our commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation is reflected in our certifications: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018. We are also proud members of the Indian Green Building Association, contributing to eco-friendly and sustainable building practices.
At Mangalam Timber, the DuraTuff brand stands as a testament to consistent quality, advanced technology, and continuous product innovation—always staying ahead of industry standards.
